Wow. I’m so glad you got to go to Heidelberg. I lived in Germany in 1979 and Heidelberg was the first place I went to. I hope you got to the wonderful Kondieterei in the Fussgangerzone and take a walk along the philosophenweg across the river. Heidelberg is one of my Lieblingstadte (favorite cities). Hope you had a wonderful time. It’s the best time of year to go!
Reply to Andrea NestorVery cool! I got to see how amazing it can be to visit castles in person when I went to the UK a few years ago. Germany’ castles have that “fairy tale” look to them. Beautiful stuff and you guys looks so happy. Thanks for sharing
Reply to Renee AOMG, I was at the Heidelburg Castle 6/23/10, that was an awesome city, beautiful!!
Beautiful pictures
Reply to BetsI love the pictures. I was born in Heidelberg, but we moved back to the States shortly after I was born.
Reply to tammySo beautiful place.
Reply to Aiping WangGreat pix! I was just there in May and had a rollicking good time. Heidelberg was beautiful and the castle is majestic. I like the fact that the French tried to destroy the castle, and when they found out that they couldn’t it was just left as is! The Pharmacy Museum was good too. Did you get a chance to check out the Student Jail?
Reply to CarterI finished my last two years of college in Germany. I studied economics in Heidelberg my first year and went on to Trier, Germany my second year. Heidelberg was a great place to live and looking up at the castle everyday was amazing. It was a different view everyday depending on the weather. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories.

Reply to Jay CarterI absolutely love the Heidelberg castle. I lived in Germany for five years, 2 in Mannheim and 3 in Illesheim and visited the castle many times. What a beautiful place. I left Germany to go back stateside in 2001 and have been wanting to go back for a visit ever since. My wife and I miss Germany very much.
