Thank you so much Bryan for creating this community and continuing to write such inspirational, motivating, and positive blogs. It’s such a wonderful part of my support; it feels so uplifting that I have a place where I won't be judged for saying or doing something dumb. That everybody here will laugh with me (instead of at me) and can TOTALLY relate!

Because of how this community interacts I’ve entertained the thought of putting together a group that can meet bi-weekly/monthly but it’s an overwhelming idea to me as of yet. I've only found one therapist in my city that specializes in adult ADHD therapy; in a city of 700,000 that is shockingly unbelievable to me.

Without support and reinforcement how else will we experience positive thinking and be able to leave the negative behind?

Beautiful post, Bryan- only wishing you'd had a chance to elaborate on it even further. Your thoughts are great gifts, even if I sometimes misunderstand.

Your post stayed with me long after I read it, because I was processing WHY I so appreciate this forum.

As ADHDers, we have available to us many types of resources for learning to "get our lives together" and become "successful" despite (or because of) our ADHD. We have CBT and medications available as well. But this is the only forum of which I am aware that focuses as much on healing and emotion (the emotion so many of us feel safe enough to express in our posts). Beginning to address and heal the emotional aspects that accompany my ADHD has been critical to my wholeness as a human being.

I think the topic of the emotions and ADHD is too often neglected, even if some people may think we're not supposed to talk about emotions or that they don't matter in the context of ADHD.

Thank you for providing us with a forum where we can express our emotions, those things that make us completely unique beings.

This site is without a doubt the main source of support for me in dealing with my ADD, and it will remain so. I just hope that I have given enough support, encouragement, and contribution to this community in return, because I feel that I didn't give those as much as I want. There are some blogs to which I would like to reply, but somehow it got delayed until I ended up not doing it. But I will keep giving my support the best I can.

Thank you, Bryan, for all your effort and your continous support for us.

You nailed it Bryan. Compassion, forgiveness, and becoming your own best friend instead of your worst critic are essential to healing the wounds of the past and moving on to a future that accepts and embraces ALL of who you are - your brilliant strengths, your "flaws" and your ADHD.

Thanks for building such an great resource for people whose lives are touched by ADHD! You are an inspiration!

Hello Bryan! As you know, I am a member. And I think this post is important and what you have said is true! One of the important things you point out in this post is Everyone is Welcome! Even they just want to learn about ADHD.

ADHDers are not all the same, and may have different opinions and such, but we all do have something in common I think. A need to show how we feel about ourselves, and see how others feel about themselves. It may surprise us to see how much we feel the same about many things.

Do you remember how skeptical(judgemental) I was the first time visited? I later dedicated a post on my own blog to show how wrong I was about you and how I almost missed out on a Treasure that was offered to me. http://addmsorboth.blogspot.com/2010/01/hidden-treasures-right-in-front.html

Thanks Bryan for being here for Us!
