You Turn by Dr. Nancy Irwin

You Turn by Dr. Nancy Irwin

Don’t wait until you aren’t scared. You’ll be dead. Most of us are scared all the time! Change does not require fearlessness, but it does require courage. Courage is not being fearless – it’s doing what is right in the face of fear. Without fear, there’d be no courage. Dr. Nancy Irwin from her book, You Turn Dr. Irwin doesn’t waste any time in her book You Turn to let you know getting to where you want to go is already within you. The problem is that most of us are too darn scared to move, change and take advantage of opportunities that come our way. The thing is, as she explains in the quote above, many of us are fighting our fears and hoping, praying that a day will come when we are not so darned scared anymore. That day may never come, because, fear is what it is […]

Gluten Free Girl by Shauna James Ahern

Gluten Free Girl by Shauna James Ahern

I came across a delightful book the other day called Gluten-Free Girl by Shauna James Ahern. As some of you already know, I am allergic to wheat. That’s no fun and keeping wheat out of my diet is a chore, but, worse still is that I am also Gluten sensitive. Once you start trying to eliminate Gluten from the diet it sure can seem like eating food is suddenly tragic! However, that’s not really the case. The truth is, once I started to eliminate Gluten, I start to eat so much healthier! Contrary to popular belief, eating healthy doesn’t taste half bad; actually, after a while I discovered REAL food tastes much better than the over processed crud I had been eating for so long. It’s really no wonder I had always been feeling so grumpy and lethargic at times, especially when waking the next morning after a late night […]

Tinker Bell the Animated Movie is a delight – An ADDer Review – Does Tinker Bell have ADHD?

Does Tinker Bell have ADHD? The Disney movie sure seems to indicate that she does, not directly, but if you know and understand the symptoms of ADHD then you will probably recognize some of the most common in Tinker Bell via her all new animated Movie! Plot: Enter the magical world of fairies and meet the enchanting creatures of Pixie Hollow, who “nurture nature” and bring about the change of the seasons. Changing the colors of the leaves, moving a sunbeam to melt snow, waking animals from their winter slumber, or giving a patch of sproutlings a sprinkle of water are all within the realm of these seasonal specialists. Tinker Bell thinks her fairy talent as a “tinker” isn’t as special or important as the other fairies’ talents. But when Tink tries to change who she is, she creates nothing but disaster! With encouragement from her friends Rosetta, Silvermist, Fawn and […]

The Search – The Dream – The Alchemist

The Search – The Dream – The Alchemist

In the last few years I haven’t been that interested in reading fiction. I guess I had lost my interest in fairy tales and things which simply are not real or actual. But for some reason I recently picked up a book called The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I was compelled to read this book out of nowhere, can’t really explain it, but the story within The Alchemist explained the reason to me. The Alchemist is a story about living your dreams, searching out your destiny and believing in what you can’t always see.  It’s faith really, faith in yourself and that your purpose for living has meaning. “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve your dream” is, in my opinion, the central message within The Alchemist. If one believes in the Law of Attraction and therefore, the things you want and have faith in will […]
