Is ADD ADHD over Diagnosed? Part 1

This is what I think:

I think ADD/ADHD is “-under-“diagnosed. I think there are far, far more suffers out there that have no idea why they act and think the way they do and what’s worse is that many of those suffers might have already been explained what ADD/ADHD is, but would rather suffer than admit they have such a thing. So taboo! So can’t be! Oh no, not me, can’t be—stigmas are powerful things. It can be even worse than that, what if a child is diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and the parents can’t bring themselves to agree with the diagnosis and the poor kid grows up without proper assistance? Unfortunately,

Dopamine lower in persons with ADD ADHD

The Archives of General psychiatry published this month a report which concludes that Dopamine levels were found to be lower in a test group of ADHD adults than in a control group of those not afflicted with ADHD. You can read the report by visiting the Archives web site and the report name is Polymorphisms of the Dopamine D4 Receptor, Clinical Outcome, and Cortical Structure in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Here is the link:

Special Report: ADD ADHD is Fraud! Say what?

There are doctors out there, parents even, who call ADD and ADHD fraud! As a person with ADD I find the information they are selling and trying to spread insulting. My sole purpose with this web site and the book about my life’s story is to help spread understanding about ADD and ADHD. It’s important to me and probably everyone else with either ADD or ADHD. I grew up with undiagnosed ADD and it wasn’t what I would call fun and most certainly not easy. With understanding of what ADD ADHD is and how it affects people of all ages we can do more, be better and live life to our full potential. Most importantly there is assistance out there and with diagnosis we can get it. However, thanks to doctors and even parents who would rather, in my opinion, profit on disillusion and misunderstanding are spreading rumors and fears that ADD ADHD is not real and never was, we are set back in society even further. This is why a lot of people do not seek help, because of misinformation and misrepresentation.

Thank you!

It is an honor to have written a book that is meaning so much and benefiting so many. It is my hope that one day ‘One Boy’s Struggle: A Memoir’ will be read by every teacher and parent, as well as read by every adult with ADHD. If you own a copy and have read it, please consider passing it on, loan it out to friends, a support group or donating it to your local library.

Thank you!
