NOTES FROM THE UNIVERSE

NOTES FROM THE UNIVERSE

Since I enjoy spreading inspiration and motivation, –because, as an Adder, I used to find it hard to come by, I thought I would share something with my readers, which has been inspiring me for months now. It’s called “Notes from the Universe!” Basically, an email is sent to you each week day with an inspirational message personally modified just for you, the recipient. The notes I have received are wonderful and I anticipate them every day. I have copied here the note I received today and have attached a link to the website where you can sign up, if you like! Enjoy…

Positive ADDer Quote of the week

Positive ADDer Quote of the week

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobs Is Steve Jobs an Adder? I don’t know, but his words often sound as if he has lived the life of an Adder—and doing a damn fine job of it! Steve Jobs dropped out of college and then hung around to learn from specific classes he was interested in and today he is one of the most successful people in the world. He did not abide by the “dogma”, he did not allow the rules of the educational system to hinder […]

Comments, Suggestions and Ideas

The reason I created Adder World was and is to help spread understanding and awareness of ADD ADHD. I speak from experiences I have had, what I have researched and the experiences others have shared with me. I do not claim to be a doctor or any other type of medical professional. If my experiences and what I have observed and therefore write about help bring awareness and inquiry to others, then I am achieving my said goal and hopefully more. You can help me! Read on if you really, really want to help…

The Contradiction of ADD ADHD part 1

The Contradiction of ADD ADHD part 1

People with ADD and ADHD seem to contradict themselves. At least that’s a perception I believe the general public has and a major reason why many think the disorder is bogus. Here is the contradiction: “Well, when little Jane and Jack are interested, or put their minds to something, they can accomplish anything!” What’s worrisome to me is that despite ADD ADHD being the most researched mental disorder in the modern age, the general public still questions the validity. There is no question. ADD ADHD is real. Many even blame the disorder on pharmaceutical companies. Why is that worrisome to me?

ADD ADHD Diagnosis WARNING!

ADD ADHD Diagnosis WARNING!

I have been reading something rather disturbing in the news lately. Some doctors are giving prescriptions for ADD ADHD without a thorough examination for diagnosis. Basically, people come in and complain they can’t concentrate or stay focused and receive a prescription for ADD ADHD medication. “Oh Dread!” no wonder we have complaints of over diagnosis! I don’t know if the news is true or how many people have reported this, but if it is true

Stephen King’s – The Stand – First book I ever read start to finish

Stephen King’s – The Stand – First book I ever read start to finish

As a youth in school I was assigned books to read, just like everyone else and probably some of the same books as you, but I was never able to read any of those books through to completion. I skimmed them and when I didn’t find anything of interest I put them away. As you can surmise, I did not fare well on book reports! However, as I got older into my late teens I found myself spending a lot of time sitting around being bored. I have the non-hyperactive type of ADD, so I wasn’t always in the mood to seek a thrill. Often I would just sit around in the late afternoons staring out of the window daydreaming or just thinking things. I didn’t have too many friends and when the friends I did have were busy or didn’t have time, I just sat around at home doing nothing […]

I think the world is indeed waking up to the realities of ADD ADHD

I think the world is indeed waking up to the realities of ADD ADHD

I am an Adder – not a Pirate.  I have always been easily bored and therefore I have always been in the search mode of seeking stimulation. The search mode is great for learning and discovering and creating, but if you’re not an Adder it might be difficult for you to understand how it is that I can overcome my inability to pay attention to what schools have determined are necessary for learning or passing. Just because I did not seem to pay attention in school does not mean that I did not learn and just because I did not always pass the required classes, it does not mean I did not learn the lessons in the class, or at least some of the lessons, perhaps. Actually, what that really means is

Positive ADDer Quote of the week

Positive ADDer Quote of the week

“As long as I can remember I feel I have had this great creative and spiritual force within me that is greater than faith, greater than ambition, greater than confidence, greater than determination, greater than vision. It is all these combined. My brain becomes magnetized with this dominating force which I hold in my hand.” Bruce Lee Was Bruce Lee an Adder? I don’t know—I don’t even know if it has been speculated and yet when I read his writings and read what people have said about Bruce Lee, it certainly seems that he may have been an Adder. One thing is for certain: Bruce Lee was absolutely Hyper-Focused on his Martial Arts. It has been said that when Bruce was not practicing Martial Arts, then he was thinking about Martial Arts and if he was asleep, well then he was dreaming about Martial Arts. I find the above quote to […]
