What you say and how you describe yourself is ‘who you are’. Our words are very powerful and what we say has more powerful control over us than we sometimes realize. There are always two ways to describe a situation – it is our choice. I made a mistake. Or, I learned something valuable. Why can’t I be normal? Or, I am unique and special. I am not likable. Or, I am likable. One may argue that our experiences create the way we think of ourselves and if we want to we can validate the negative statements all day long, BUT the important part of this exercise is that you can validate the positive statements just as well.
