Medication a cure for ADHD? And some not medicated suggestions for coping

I have talked to a lot of people lately who want results through medication. I don’t have anything against medication and I think medication can help certain individuals, but the more I talk to people who have taken medication the more I learn that mediation is all some seem to have, that all of their hopes are reliant on medication. Someone told me recently that they would be more excited about my book and blog if it talked more about medication and if I had used medication to successfully overcome my ADHD condition.

The Tale of an ADD ADHD Memoir

This is a very special tale:

It was the worst of times and the best of times

Read about the real life, first hand story of a boy who went through childhood, and most of his adult life, undiagnosed with ADD ADHD. This is a remarkable opportunity for the ADD ADHD community and society. All that we ADDers ask for is understanding, consideration and acceptance, -ADD ADHD is real, it is affecting our children, our friends, our neighbors, it is affecting you and me, it is causing distress and turmoil and sorrow, and it does not have to be that way – it really doesn’t. ADD ADHD is a different way of thinking and in many of today’s typical settings it is a significant challenge which creates detrimental consequences.

My tears in the rain

I don’t want to count the years that have passed, it’s been a few, probably more than a few—more than a decade, could be two or three, but I remember those nights as clearly as if I was still there, sitting in the dark, nothing there, the TV off and no music playing—just me and my thoughts. So easy to get lost in my thoughts, to let them take me places I have never been, places of joy and happiness—right. Those places, places in my dreams—wanted them so badly, needed them so badly, but I was alone, so alone in my room with tears welling and emotions ebbing.

Why? I asked myself the same question over and over again—why?

Comments, Suggestions and Ideas

The reason I created Adder World was and is to help spread understanding and awareness of ADD ADHD. I speak from experiences I have had, what I have researched and the experiences others have shared with me. I do not claim to be a doctor or any other type of medical professional. If my experiences and what I have observed and therefore write about help bring awareness and inquiry to others, then I am achieving my said goal and hopefully more.

You can help me!

Read on if you really, really want to help…
