Marijuana treatment for ADD ADHD

Marijuana treatment for ADD ADHD

I would like to share this article that came up about replacing Ritalin with Marijuana! http://pr.cannazine.co.uk/content/view/147/1/  Although I can understand where the researcher is coming from concerning marijuana, I do not agree with this type of therapy for adults and especially not for children. I have personally seen what daily intake of marijuana can do to a person over time and although marijuana is probably beneficial to someone being treated for a terminal and painful disease, it can be terribly destructive to others. I believe there are side effects and dire consequences to daily (Street) marijuana use. Furthermore, many who use it seek harder stuff eventually, not always, but the risk is there – why get anyone started on it at all? That’s just what I think and believe and also believe the research is valuable, but there must be other ways and methods.   Since I originally posted this article, many things have changed and […]

How to be a part of the elite!

How to be a part of the elite!

You can be a part of the elite, all you have to do is want to be a part of the elite and then work in that direction. That’s right; it is as simple as that. Tell me your vision and I will tell you your future! I am not sure who wrote that, but it’s true. Between ADDer World and my Powerful Intentions webpage I have hundreds of thousands of readers. What I post here, I also post on PI and from time to time I post different things to each. What’s more is that many of my articles are posted all over the web by other prominent bloggers. If you write it, they will read it and if you appreciate what you write, well then, so will others. Can you be elite just by saying you are elite? Yes, I know so. But are you really? That’s […]

An Unexpected Email about a Marriage in Peril

An Unexpected Email about a Marriage in Peril

The other day I received an absolutely wonderful email from a nice young lady who has been suffering, what she called, a disaster of a marriage! She read my memoir in a single evening and felt that her husband must read it. She says she had to promise him a reward vacation in order to get him to read it, but that once he started he could not put it down. To her surprise he came to her a day later and apologized for his behavior and then went even further and finally agreed to seek marriage counseling with her and furthermore, he said he didn’t want the reward of their dream vacation until he was a better husband! My gosh, that was such a beautiful email to read and since my ultimate goal was to at least help 1 person, I guess I am done here. Okay, I am […]

A New Look at ADD, February /2/ 2008 By  John Bryan’s book is an enlightening story about an overwhelmed boy growing up with more than the normal share of confusion and hardships. His story also brings forth the ways he overcame his problem with ADD and achieved his goals. This inspiring book helped me understand the struggles someone with ADD lives through before they even realize they have a special problem and few books provide the real-life information from the perspective Bryan gives us. This book is invaluable to any parent with a child and not just those with ADD. Too often children withdraw from family and friends and we don’t take the time to understand why. Bryan gives insight into his ordeal as a child and how he took hold of his situation and opened up all the possibilities life has to offer.

Britney Spears Reported to have ADD ADHD?

Britney Spears Reported to have ADD ADHD?

That’s what I have either been told or asked the last couple days. Folks sending me emails and links letting me know she has ADD or ADHD. Lots of people are reported to have this or that, but it doesn’t always mean that they really do. Some may believe she has ADD/ADHD and maybe she does, I don’t know and I can’t answer that. I don’t know her and I don’t have any connection to her. I feel for her. She is obviously going through something dramatic and serious. I have read a lot of the articles sent to me and all I can think about is that I hope she gets the help she needs. Some of the photos in those articles are disturbing to me and I will not post any of those links here, so although I understand the reasons for sending me such articles about Britney, please […]

Reviews of “One Boy’s Struggle: A Memoir” My ADD ADHD Memoir

One Boy’s Inspiring Triumph , 01/28/2008  Reviewer: Katherine  As an adult recently diagnosed with ADD, I was curious to read about someone else’s experience growing up with undiagnosed ADD. I easily related to many of Bryan’s struggles in school, developing relationships, and with his parents. All the signs were there with me too, but it was easier for others to dismiss my behavior as eccentric and at times frustrating…especially my desire to escape into my own imaginative daydreams. This book is written in a heartwarming, positive tone as though the author himself is relating his inspirational story to a dear friend or loved one. I am still learning to cope with my ADD, and reading Mr. Hutchinson’s book gives me hope that I am not cursed, but indeed blessed in so many ways.  One Boy’s Struggle , 01/30/2008  Reviewer: Lisa  Being diagnosed around 15 years ago I have read […]

ADD ADHD and Me and Life and Love and Hope and Tragedy and Diagnosis

ADD ADHD and Me and Life and Love and Hope and Tragedy and Diagnosis

Paragraph from page 136 of “One Boy’s Struggle: A Memoir“: For many people who suffer from the symptoms of ADD, diagnosis and treatment bring them some relief and understanding. When I was first diagnosed with ADD, I was skeptical. However, once I began to learn about ADD/HD, I began to agree with the diagnosis. As I gained more knowledge about the disorder from my doctor and my own research, a remarkable feeling came over me and I started to feel better about myself. I felt myself breathe a long, deep sigh of relief. Finally, I had an explanation for my ways! For so long l felt misunderstood and blamed myself for my innate traits, and I don’t feel so alone in the world anymore. It was an enlightening experience for me. Finding out I have ADD gave me a clearer sense of direction, as though I had been wandering in […]
