ADD ADHD and positive thinking – the Gift and Blessing

I think it is very important that we learn to think positive and use positive thinking and visualizing positive results to cope with ADD ADHD.  I talk a lot about positive thinking and visualizing positive results here on my blog and thanks to years of therapy I have learned to do that. The point I want to make is that ADD ADHD causes a lot of devastation in many lives, the symptoms and traits have caused numerous struggles in my own life.

ADD ADHD Perfectionism – To be Perfect or Not to be Perfect

PERFECTIONISM

To Be Perfect or Not to be perfect?

We ADDers can be, at times, perfectionists. And when we become Hyper Focused on getting something perfect it can become an obsession. Nothing is perfect. I have to stop and tell myself that sometimes, but it’s hard to accept, because I really do want to get it right and I try so very hard to get it right. Maybe this or that is wrong, maybe if I adjust this it will come out even better, maybe if I hold it upside down and stand on my left foot and bounce six times, that will do ‘er up just right!

The Tale of an ADD ADHD Memoir

This is a very special tale:

It was the worst of times and the best of times

Read about the real life, first hand story of a boy who went through childhood, and most of his adult life, undiagnosed with ADD ADHD. This is a remarkable opportunity for the ADD ADHD community and society. All that we ADDers ask for is understanding, consideration and acceptance, -ADD ADHD is real, it is affecting our children, our friends, our neighbors, it is affecting you and me, it is causing distress and turmoil and sorrow, and it does not have to be that way – it really doesn’t. ADD ADHD is a different way of thinking and in many of today’s typical settings it is a significant challenge which creates detrimental consequences.

How to be a part of the elite!

You can be a part of the elite, all you have to do is want to be a part of the elite and then work in that direction. That’s right; it is as simple as that.

Tell me your vision and I will tell you your future! I am not sure who wrote that, but it’s true. Between ADDer World and my Powerful Intentions webpage I have hundreds of thousands of readers. What I post here, I also post on PI and from time to time I post different things to each. What’s more is that many of my articles are posted all over the web by other prominent bloggers. If you write it, they will read it and if you appreciate what you write, well then, so will others.

People with ADD ADHD are Amazing and Wonderful!

I have the honor and pleasure to write for really wonderful people!

I have received amazing emails this last week and all the comments are positive, constructive and supportive. The emails are from people who have faced major opposition, complaints and a negative public image due to a disorder called ADD ADHD! The emails are from family members and friends of ADDers who know their friends and loved ones with ADD ADHD are beautiful people, important people, and people of relevance and blessed with amazing talents and traits. The emails are from fellow ADDers who have struggled, who have strived and who have a deep desire to be the best that they can be! The emails are from people who have a feeling inside that is so strong, that they know, deep inside, that their destiny is special and together our destinies are intertwined.

The gift of Hyper-Focus is yours! Here’s the Secret!

Did you know that you have a very special gift? You do, it’s yours and it has been with you all of your life. It is the gift of Hyper-Focus. Some think of it as a curse and some think it has no purpose, but in truth, it is the most important part of our being.

There are many, many rituals people use to connect with their inner selves and become focused in the things which are of concern to them. It takes great effort to turn on the focused mode of the mind and create that awareness of understanding and comprehension, but for us ADDers this very same focus, what we call ‘Hyper-Focus’ is available to us all the time, every day, in every situation we can use it. Some take drugs to capture such focus and some meditate for days trying to create such a focused mode… and yet we ADDers find our focus factor each and every day, but there’s a problem: We usually do it on accident and at times which can be inconvenient.

Even With ADD ADHD – When there is a WILL there is a WAY

There’s going to be people who say you can’t, there’s going to be people who tell you there is no way, there are going to be people who try to hold you back, but the truth is—you can, there is a way and no matter what someone says or tries to make you believe, it really comes down to what you believe, what you think and what you want. Nobody has control over your mind and your future the way that you do!

I am here to tell you that there will be times that people make you feel bad, make you feel down and make you feel like nothing you do is worth anything. It can get to you and it got to me, but the great power within our minds has the ability to overcome naysayers, put-downers and those who are trying to make us feel as bad as they do.

People Pleasers – May I have your approval?

Simon thumbs up!

Do you ever get the feeling that all you want to do is please other people or that your main mission in life is to seek the approval of others for your own very existence? And for some reason or another, no matter how you try you are just not succeeding and nobody really notices your efforts. Do you feel like it is a waste of time, but you can’t stop?

We can be very hard on ourselves for seemingly not fitting in, for not getting things right, or not understanding what it takes to make another person feel good. It can be so hard that, at times, our first thoughts when we wake up in the morning is what can I do better for this person or that person and unfortunately, we forget that the most important approval comes from within ourselves.

Are you able to utilize your ADD ADHD Talents and Traits?

I often write about how great ADD and ADHD talents and traits can be and I really think they are wondrous. However, do you get noticed for them? Do you get credit for them? Are you able to utilize them in a manner which benefits others?

I mentioned in yesterday’s article that I am hyper-focused and able to think rationally around Big Names, especially when I am supposed to be nervous and this trait I have been able to utilize. I like to write a lot and hopefully inspire others with positive thoughts and ideas. I utilize that with my Blog. I have learned to utilize my traits and talents by trying, and trying always brings with it new understandings and discoveries of what more I can do, even if I use what I learn in something else other than what I originally started out with. For example, I started out something totally different than writing books and creating a blog and what seemed like a dead end actually led me to self discoveries about what else I could do and this blog is a product of the efforts I used originally elsewhere!

Thank you!

It is my hope that one day ‘One Boy’s Struggle: A Memoir’ will be read by every teacher and parent, as well as read by every adult with ADHD. If you own a copy and have read it, please consider passing it on, loan it out to friends, a support group or donating it to your local library.
