The Contradiction of ADD ADHD part 2

The Contradiction of ADD ADHD part 2

The most confounding contradiction to ADD ADHD for parents, teachers, society and even the person with ADD ADHD can be summed up in one single solitary word “Interest”. When an Adder has interest in something they can show not only a spark of genius, but they can also be a true genius and, or innovator in wherever the interest is. That’s confounding because when an Adder shows this capability many interpret it to mean that the person can do anything and just chooses not to. Adders, especially the younger ones, have very little, if any control over what interests their minds. That’s a simple fact which is seemingly unacceptable to the majority of our population. The thinking is: if you can do it in one thing, then you should be able to do it in all things. I think there is a lot of truth here, think about it by

NOTES FROM THE UNIVERSE

NOTES FROM THE UNIVERSE

Since I enjoy spreading inspiration and motivation, –because, as an Adder, I used to find it hard to come by, I thought I would share something with my readers, which has been inspiring me for months now. It’s called “Notes from the Universe!” Basically, an email is sent to you each week day with an inspirational message personally modified just for you, the recipient. The notes I have received are wonderful and I anticipate them every day. I have copied here the note I received today and have attached a link to the website where you can sign up, if you like! Enjoy…

The reason I created Adder World was and is to help spread understanding and awareness of ADD ADHD. I speak from experiences I have had, what I have researched and the experiences others have shared with me. I do not claim to be a doctor or any other type of medical professional. If my experiences and what I have observed and therefore write about help bring awareness and inquiry to others, then I am achieving my said goal and hopefully more. You can help me! The Contradiction of ADD ADHD part 1

The Contradiction of ADD ADHD part 1

People with ADD and ADHD seem to contradict themselves. At least that’s a perception I believe the general public has and a major reason why many think the disorder is bogus. Here is the contradiction: “Well, when little Jane and Jack are interested, or put their minds to something, they can accomplish anything!” What’s worrisome to me is that despite ADD ADHD being the most researched mental disorder in the modern age, the general public still questions the validity. There is no question. ADD ADHD is real. Many even blame the disorder on pharmaceutical companies. Why is that worrisome to me?

Focusing on the negative and ignoring the positive: the inflexibility of trial and error learning.

Every day we find ourselves in different positions and situations, some are great and some we would rather not be in. There is a lot of negativity out there and there are a lot of positive things out there and yet some of us feel like each day is a struggle for survival not really giving any positive influences the credit they deserve. Some of us even get to the point that when something positive occurs we automatically assume something negative will develop from it. For this rationality we draw from past experiences, often expanding the negative experiences beyond what they originally were about.

How to turn on your Hyper-Focus – Part 1

How to turn on your Hyper-Focus – Part 1

If I had to use one word to describe how I turn on my Hyper-Focusing ability it would be “Enthusiasm”! As difficult as it is for an Adder to become interested in something for which he or she has no interest, enthusiasm can make all the difference in the world! Something which isn’t noted as much as our Hyper-Focusing ability is our extraordinary ability to become enthusiastic. Enthusiasm is our key to success and happiness by generating positive thinking, positive reinforcement and positive action

Hutchinson Positive Thinking part7 post1:         Removing the roadblock Removing the roadblock we have created for ourselves is not an easy effort and it requires us to rethink the truth of who we are. The first prerequisite is to get over any blame. Blame won’t help anyone and is just more negativity that will keep us down, inhibit our future. Recognizing that there is no one to blame, no one to

Adders Veg Out!

Adders Veg Out!

Yep, we with ADD ADHD have a tendency to Veg out and lose total track of time. It’s what we do and we do it well, hey, it’s effortless! The thing is, though, we usually don’t want to Veg out. We Veg out on our own time, on time when we should be accomplishing things for ourselves. Dentist appointments, getting the car fixed or doing yard work are things which can wait. And we usually decide to wait. Actually, it’s not even a decision, we just check out and do not pay any attention to the things we should be doing.
