Aim for the Stars! Dream your Dream Anew

Le Petit Prince

There’s a saying: “Aim for the stars and reach for the moon.”

Did you know that when the moon makes its way around the earth it gets closer and further away as it travels in an ellipse. At the moon’s closest point to us it is 225,622 miles away and at its furthest it is something like, well, 252,088 miles away.

Reaching for the moon was an impossibility in the not too distant past for all of mankind, but aiming for the stars has never been impossible for anyone, not for you and not for me.

Have you ever dreamed a dream? It’s like aiming for the stars. It’s not about getting there. It’s never been about getting there. Some people reach their dream, but when they get there they suddenly find themselves lost and confused. They relish the fact that they have achieved the impossible and made it possible, but still, soon comes the feeling that something is missing.

Aspire – Desire – Dreaming – Striving – for what?

Do you sit alone in the dark wondering and dreaming?

What are you striving for?

For what do you aspire?

Who are you anyway?

Have you considered, deeply and thoughtfully, your mistakes and misfortunes?

Have you thought about how you can change?

Have you listened to the silence around you? What does it tell you?

Take a moment to take measure, to take in how much you have strived and tried and the effort you have put forth to please and be everything you could possibly be. How much have you given? Oh, how much must you give? Everyday, you set forth to sail the seas of aspirations and yet try to ignore them for the simple fear of failure, because you will fail, you will never measure up.

What Do Kids Dream About and Why?

I am standing at the edge of a cliff; my toes are curling the edge, as I prepare to jump.  Before me is an open sky, beautiful and clear and, as I look down, I cannot see the bottom, just more glorious sky – this place seems it could be the edge of the world, maybe it is. I am calm, open, even smiling quite delightfully. I feel liberated. I should be terrified, I should be trembling and yet, I am not fearful, not at all.

I step off, with my arms open wide as if I can fly and in an instant I can feel the air rushing against me, pressing against me, yet gently, almost hugging me, like a lover’s sweet embrace. I am flying.
