A Person Who Has ADHD Won A Pulitzer Prize! (Click Here to tweet that statement.) I am happy to present you with an interview I recently conducted with Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist, Katherine Ellison. I think it is great to have a Pulitzer Prize winner as a part of our community. If you didn’t know it yet, you do now, Katherine has ADHD and so does her son, Buzz. In fact, Katherine wrote a book about her experiences with her son and their efforts to cope with ADHD! The book is titled Buzz and we’ll talk a little about that in a moment. Katherine has become a very active advocate for the ADHD community and does quite a bit of public speaking, so if your an event organizer, we’ll let you know how to book her for your event. One Blogger’s ADHD Year in REVIEW!

One Blogger’s ADHD Year in REVIEW!

In my latest free eBook I ask readers to ‘note’ the good things. It is so easy for us to point out and beat ourselves up over our mistakes and things that didn’t work out. But if we really want to live happier, more positive lives, then we probably should give the “good” things the credit they deserve, too. Don’t you think? . One way that leads to happiness is gratefulness and I have a lot to be thankful for this year. . Here’s my list of my top 10 ‘good’ things this year: . 1 I released my first free eBook of the year 7 Crucial Tips for Parents and Teachers of Children with ADHD. It has been downloaded thousands of times and passed on via email countless more times, also via facebook and so many other ways. .2 The ADDer World ADHD Social Network reached a new milestone as membership went over 3000 […]

Book Review: Buzz: A Year of Paying Attention by Katherine Ellison

Book Review: Buzz: A Year of Paying Attention by Katherine Ellison

I was extremely excited to read Buzz to say the least. I had heard of the book and had considered ordering it several times, but as you may know I have ADHD. Sometimes I forget to order stuff that I want, no matter how much I want it! Well, a short while back I met Katherine Ellison and before I knew it we were emailing each other back and forth discussing ADHD and our memoirs. I asked Katherine if she would like to give a signed copy of her book away on ADDer World, the ADHD Social Network. She replied that she would love to and sent me a copy right away. Uhm, again remember that I have ADHD, because I gave Katherine a goofed up address the book went back to her and she nicely, and ever so gently, let me know. I admitted my goof and corrected […]

The First Rule of ADHD – NOT to talk about ADHD and why we should Change it

The First Rule of ADHD – NOT to talk about ADHD and why we should Change it

The first rule of ADHD is not to talk about ADHD. You may be aware of this unspoken, super-secret rule, and you may have already broken it several times. However, there are thousands of people who live by this rule out of necessity, out of fear of judgment, and out of fear of reprisal. You may walk past, work with, or study with people that have ADHD and never know it, unless they break the rule and talk about their ADHD. What if someone you know as a good person and seems to do well told you that he or she has ADHD? What would change? How would you then view them? Would you then be more critical of every mistake they ever made and reanalyze your opinion of them? Many people consider the first rule of ADHD to be very important in order to maintain privacy, and to avoid misjudgment. Did you […]
