Book Review: The ADHD Effect on Marriage

Book Review: The ADHD Effect on Marriage

If you are in a relationship, especially in a marriage and you have ADHD, or your spouse has ADHD, or even if both of you have ADHD, Melissa’s book is one of the best books I have read for solving and overcoming relationship issues which are caused by, or influenced by ADHD. ADHD isn’t going away, but it is manageable and it doesn’t have to be the end all, be all of any relationship. However, to deny ADHD or try to ignore it, that my friends and neighbors leads to a never ending spiral of confusion, disillusions and heartbreak. Melissa’s book The ADHD Effect on Marriage can and will help you. As I have written many times, one of the major problems with relationships involving a person with ADHD is that we all too often are in relationships we shouldn’t be in. I have been there and there isn’t a […]

ADHD is a fad again?! Shame and Guilt are back!

ADHD is a fad again?! Shame and Guilt are back!

Seems things are going to get worse before they get better. I just read another article about ‘the myth of ADHD’ by someone who raised my eyebrows. Mr. Herr, an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Studies, Leadership and Counseling at Murray State University, wrote a recent article titled – ADHD: Has this diagnostic fad run its course? According to Mr. Herr, ADHD is a diagnostic fad! His article perfectly underscores my recent blog post about how a report in the media can be skewed by the headline (in this case the entire article). I am not going into detail about how accurate a report authored by an assistant professor of economics about ADHD children and misdiagnosis of ADHD at an early age might be (Youngest in class get ADHD label – another headline to go with my previous collection). However, people are paying attention to it and when someone who is an assistant […]

Recent Book Reviews: ADD ADHD Life Memoir

Recent Book Reviews: ADD ADHD Life Memoir

It is not a trivial thing to review a book you have enjoyed. It does my heart well and I continue to be touched deeply by what readers are taking from my first book. As time continues to move forward, as I write and publish more books, in true ADDer fashion I tend to worry more and more about the inexperienced writing of the first book I wrote. However, readers continue to validate that which I have shared with the world. It does my heart and soul good to know that my story continues to be of meaning to so many. Special thanks to my readers everywhere. You’ve done more for me than I could ever do for you. Recent reviews of One Boy’s Struggle: A Memoir – Surviving Life with Undiagnosed ADD: IT’S NOT MERELY HOPEFUL, IT’S AN ASSURANCE As an ADDer myself, I have read several books about […]

How to Get Published – My Short and Long Answer

How to Get Published – My Short and Long Answer

The short answer is quite simple: Just go ahead and do it! Really, that’s the short answer. If you have written a book there are several good quality “Self-publishing companies” that will publish your book and make it available to the public via their very own online book store and what’s more is that they will also add it to just about every other online book store as well. Yes, including Amazon! As a matter of fact, Amazon offers publishing too. Now, are you ready for the long answer? If so, get a cup of coffee or tea, or any kind of beverage, because, if you’re serious about publishing your work this part’s going to take a few extra minutes to read. I want you to be comfortable. Some of what I am going to reveal to you, you may not like, but you will want to know it anyway. The […]

Is it a Cult Classic? A Simple Book About A Kid With ADD Growing Up Into An Adult With ADD

Is it a Cult Classic? A Simple Book About A Kid With ADD Growing Up Into An Adult With ADD

About a year or so ago someone wrote me and told me that One Boy’s Struggle would become a cult classic. As per the usual with me I didn’t pay that complement much attention (yep – A.D.D.). It was a complement, right? Then a few weeks ago someone else wrote me and said nearly the same thing and then again, just last week yet another person called it a cult classic. The latest person didn’t even say it would be or could be, she said it is a cult classic! She was pretty much a-matter-of-fact about it. Okay, now I am starting to pay attention. I decided to look up ‘cult classic’ in the dictionary, or rather, Google, and this is what I found: Cult Classic – allwords.com: ‘A work of fiction that is extremely popular with a select audience but may or may not be successful at the […]

New Book – The Patient’s Guide for ADHD Medication Rules by Dr. Charles Parker

New Book – The Patient’s Guide for ADHD Medication Rules by Dr. Charles Parker

I receive literally thousands of press releases every year. I publish very few of them for your reading pleasure. Instead, I ask authors if they would like to give away a free signed copy on our ADDer World social network. Some take up that offer and some don’t. This press release is a bit different because it is critically important for the ADHD population worldwide and it is published in ebook format, so there isn’t yet an autographed printed copy available. Over the last 3 years of so, Dr. Parker has become a trusted partner in helping raise awareness about ADHD and he has also become a valued friend. He’s also a member of our ADDer World ADHD Social Network. I am very proud and pleased to present his press release about his new book. His new book is going to change a lot of treatment strategies out there for […]

ADD is Real & Suprise Updates

ADD is Real & Suprise Updates

Remember the wonderful, helpful and sensitive video by a young lady talking about ADHD? Yes, that one! It captured our attention and exemplified for many of us, how we feel. The video is posted above, if you missed it. And if you enjoy the video, she’s joined us on our ADDer World ADHD Social Network, perhaps you would like to welcome her and/or comment on her video. Okay, I think I am done tinkering with the logo and site colors for a while on our ADHD Social Network. I say that, but you know I have ADD, so don’t count on it. However, I do feel I have finally aced the logo. Again, remember, I have ADD. You can tell me what you think here. New member, Jason, shares with us his very personal and revealing story. It’s touching and important, which is a good addition to uncovering ADD: Hi there! I’m […]
